Vinh,Honestly wish I could give some tips regardin’ ice-fishin’ but, am a total “Greenhand” when it comes to that, in other words, I have never had the opportunity nor not even an invite
. I’m thinkin’ though one could use a spinner and go with the jiggin’ effect ~ on the drop, the “Dead Fall” of the blade will definitely do some attractin’. As for the Panther Martins they have been a personal favorite of mine, mainly because they produce, not only trout but other type species as well (luv them Small mouths
). Whether it be the blade design ie., it’s configuration and or the fact that the shaft goes thru the blade itself I do not know ? In the years I’ve fished (answer to your second question ~ over 50 of em’
), I’ve gone with Rooster Tail, Mepps along with other names (ha’, even some custom made jobbers of my own) but, not with the results of old, “Uncle Martin”. As for me knowin’ a lot of S _ _ t
~ thats questionable but, over the years I’ve been quite fortunate in pickin’ up a few things
… Hang in there because they’ll be some other ppl who really know their stuff and’ll set you right on that ice-fishin’
. Good luck on the Browns, in my opinion they be a much scrappier and tougher species ta’ catch then say Rainbows, except for Steelhead that is
… < ' (( ( ><

Don’t bother, the Steve Martin version of Pink Panther sucks. You’re way better off watching the Peter Sellers versions of the Pink Panther. I loved Dirty Rotten Scoundrels too. If you want to see Steve Martin at his best check out The Jerk and The Man With Two Brains.

The organization led by Martin Luther King and Ralph Abernathy was the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). The fundamental difference between the SCLC and the two other prominent organizations, the Black Panthers and the SNCC, was a difference of social class. Remember that King and Abernathy were established preachers in Montgomery churches, and they had the luxury of being middle class members. Their protests were non-violent, and they were successful because they had the relative power and money to pull it off, not to mention the public exposure. When the police threw tear gas into those peaceful demonstrations and turned dogs, clubs and fire hoses against preachers and their congregations, Americans reacted. That was the goal of the SCLC: to expose the injustice of racism and bring about a change by striking the moral conscience of the nation. The Black Panthers had a much different experience of racism, mainly because they didn’t have the benefit of middle class status. Isolated in the black ghettos, they interacted very little with whites and were constantly subjected to gratuitous police brutality. Their people were impoverished, uneducated and largely unemployed, and they did not have the means to match the SCLC. The original Panthers, Bobby Seale and Huey Newton, organized in the ghettos of Oakland, California. Newton and Seale were tired of the police protecting the white man’s interests by oppressing the black man, and so they got together with some of their young friends and assembled a small fleet of armed cars that would tail the police. If the cops stopped to harrass people in their neighborhood, there would be three of four Panthers watching from a distance, openly holding rifles, shotguns and law books. They also established numerous socialist programs to help their people. They provided free breakfasts to school children and offered adult education classes at night. While Martin Luther King sought legal reformation, the Panthers sought a revolution. King wanted integration and equality, while the revolutionaries leaned toward separatism.Clearly, the Panthers were not committed to non-violence, and honestly, I think non-violence would have been an insufficient and inappropriate committment for them to make. Their envirnoment was far too violent for peaceful protest to be effective, and the brutality that occurred there in the ghetto was never publicized. The Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) was basically ineffective, I think. They were mostly college students, and despite their name, they were not committed to non-violence. They suffered many internal conflicts, especially concerning the permissibility of having white members. Their head honcho, Stokely Carmichael, ultimately left the movement, and I think ended up owning a BBQ sauce company.I suggest reading the following books:Stride Toward Freedom, Martin Luther King, Jr.Why We Can’t Wait, Martin Luther King, Jr.And The Walls Came Tumbling Down, Ralph AbernathyThe Black Panthers Speak, Philip S. FonerSoul On Ice, Eldridge CleaverHope that helps. Good luck.

Sounds like a tough stream. I love the PM’s (black/gold, brook trout, brown trout, silver) try the #2′s or #1s if the 2 makes too much of a splash. All the lures you mention have some weight and make noise. My trick is to cast Waaay upstream of where I actually think the fish are so the splash doesn’t spook them. Wade up to the next hole- always fish upstream- Any disturbance- your wading or the splash of your lure can send them running. The other thing you can try is fly fishing with Joe’s hoppers (grasshopper patterns) and again, practice disturbing the water as little as possible.

The answer to your first question, why would he do it, is simple. Money. Lots of money. Also, he had some hand in the writing of the screenplay – perhaps he actually personally likes the movies…
December 24th, 2010 at 5:28 pm
Simple. They didn’t lump THEMSELVES under the same movement. Hence why they are called Black Panthers and the African American Civil Rights Movement respectively. Radical and moderate feminists use the exact same label.
