It looks good in natural light but not so good in florescent lighting. It actually takes on a blue red cast in like a mall or office.

I live in western Massachusetts, and it is commonplace for the larger supermarkets to make and sell their own, just as you described it. I’ve never seen it in a can, but they package it and sell it on site. Maybe try asking at the deli or the produce section, if you were only hunting in the canned fruit aisle of your store.

I think it depends on the watermelon. If the watermelon is more ripe and sweet, its more red. If the watermelon isnt so ripe, it should be a bit more pink.

It’s definitely not blood or you’d know some pain by now. I get the same thing when I eat a lot of carrots or carrot juice, so yes, that’s a total possibility. I guess I’ve never had enough watermelon for that to happen to me specifically.

Depends on how ripe they are:)Does it really matter. Certainly some melon are darker than others and same with the berries.

It should be fine. The color changes by the amount of water that was in the watermelon while it was growing. A lighter color just means that it did not have as much water as a red one.
