    from the brands you listed, l would pick the berkley.but l usually use the 10 inch models from bass pro shop. their tournament series.as far as color goes, decide on the color choice after you see the water you will be fishing. if there are lots of crawdads around then your two picks would probably work. if the water is very clear then go to a lighter color.AND…as BC mentioned, size may also prove to be a major factor. generally, in colder conditions dropping down to a 6″ or even a 4″ worm may bring you more strikes. slow down your fishing speed also. the fish are generally sluggish and won’t want to chace far for a meal. they will be more inclined to slurp up whatever tidbit gets in their face.don’t leave the jigs at home either. they are a number one winter bait.one last idea:l have been doing well with a cinnamon/red&green flake “fat ika” by gary yamamoto rigged with a 5/0 or 6/0 EWG hook. makes a good substitute for a craw.

    Yes. You have to fish in tournaments that are recognized by Bass Masters, where pro points are earned. When you have accumulated enough points you can turn pro. The higher you place, the more points you receive. If you do well enough during this period you may pick up a sponser and move on the Bass Masters Tournament Trail where you can fish in the amateur division. When you gain a certain number of points in that division, you can start fishing as a pro. It takes a while but it’s worth it. If you are an exceptional talent and gain a lot of sponsers early on, you could jump right from local tournaments to the pros and skip the amateur division all together like Van Dam did. But you have to be great to go that route.

    If your fishing clear or ultra clear water I would go with an 8-10 lb fluorocarbon line. If the water is a bit stained you could get away with mono. Bouncing along the bottom is a good place to start. If your not getting bit doing that try changing up you retrieve and maybe go slower or faster. Also try a hard hop off the bottom and letting it fall slow at times you can get a reaction strike doing that. As far a rigging goes you can use a lead head jig that goes inside or I like to Texas rig my tubes so the weight falls away from the tube allowing it to be more buoyant as opposed to the weight being inside the tube with a jig head. Try a few presentations and let the fish tell you what they want.
