Pre spawn isn’t really “set in stone” everywhere. Typically pre spawn is when the water gets up to the 65-70 degree mark. Fish will start preparing for the spawn afterwards of course. It’s basically the preperation before the spawn. The most productive baits are going to be shad imitations. Pass on the Jitterbug for now, you’ll be better of with that a little after the spawn. As for the worms, you’ll more tha likely get a few in but don’t expect several fish. The Senko can be pretty productive when drop shotting this time of year. If you’re wanting to throw a worm I’d stick to drop shotting the Senko. If I were you I’d make sure I had plenty of spinnerbaits, swimbaits, crankbaits, and maybe a suspending jerkbait or 2 all in a few different colors and sizes if possible. Try focusing on the points and structure in the lake. Fish will be holding fairly deep and in cover. Fish both, the points and structure thoroughly with different baits and you should have some luck. Points hold a lot of fish this time of year so if you throw one bait without any luck throw something else and something else until you start getting hits.

i spend everyday of my summer fishn in ponds so heres some tips. when ur fishn from shore the best time is at noon. stay pretty close to the shore. use baits like live shad, nightcrawlers, bread,. and if u want artificial baitshere is some, plastic worms, rubber minnows, spinnerbaits work best but try to stay away from crankbaits. with somebaits it will work really well for a while but then the fish start to notice what it is. so keep changing baits. good luck fishn

That is a really nice bass for the north. I live in michigan and the biggest ive ever caught was 5.5 lbs. I would stick with the senkos, although I would suggest the yum dinger over the senko. I would try a junebug color or a black and blue in the regular style or the newer forktail style. Almost all colors I’ve use have produce large bass and a quite a few of them. For clearer waters use darker colors and for stained or murky use brighter colors. You also need to “match the hatch.” Identify the forage, baitfish and try to match their color the best that you can. I would try all different ways to rig it. Wacky, Texas rigged, carolina rig, and experiment with all possible ways. These lures are quite versatile so you will catch bass almost anyway you use them.Good luck!
