I started typing and decided to just look for an article on it, and I actually found one. I didnt read much of it, but heres some techniques you may find useful. Im not a big bass fisherman, but I love the gold finished ones. I ripped a few walleye off some rocky points this spring using this bait. Good luck man!!

Since bass are ready to spawn any day now in North Texas, you would do well to throw dark colored 7″ lizards (blk/blu), root beer color centipedes carolina rigged, blue gill colored spinnerbaits or buzzers, or the always good for Texas fishing 1/2 or 3/4 oz fluorescent reddish orange colored Rat-L-Trap. A 4″ Long A with gold sides or weightless Senko on 3/0 Wide Gap Gamakatsu are also very good pre-spawn baits. When water warms to 65 degrees throw 3/8 oz jig/crawmin green/brown or shad colored 1/2 spinnerbait. If you fish any or all of these and get some largemouth then you have made the right choice. If they’re in there they will bite.God Bless Texas!

Haha, that’s weird. I’m looking at a pack of 7.5″ Red Shad Culprit worms right now. They’re on my shelf, next to the VCR.Fish ‘em slow. SLOW. Oh yeah, and SLOWER. You also might not be in a spot with bass in it. Every spot on a lake isn’t going to have bass. Find a shady spot in deeper water. Visible cover is a plus, too. Ask around with bass fisherman and see where some good spots are for bass.I fish ‘em by giving little bumps with my rod tip. Up, up, up, down, reel in slack, repeat. Sometimes I will just slowly reel them across the bottom. Fish them all different ways.”The Wormist” should be able to help you, too. He’s a big plastic worm guy.
