Is Gary Y.'s swim senko in green pumpkin the best fishing lure for bass ever?
I thought the 5" senko in green Lures Senko pumpkin was the best sinking bass worm type lure, BUT then they came out with the swimming senko and now it is the best top water "baby snake" lure ever for Florida. Do you know a better all round lure?

In heavy cover go with Texas weightless and in more “open” areas go with wacky rig.Texas rigging uses a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook, you put the hook pint it to the head of Senko about a 1/4 of an inch then go out the side of the bait slide the bait up to the eye of the hook then turn the hook 180 degrees and put the point back through about where the bottom of the hook will be. Once through run the point of the hook just under the surface(skin) of the bait. I like red hooks they seam to get me more hits but you may want to experiment.Wacky rigging involves placing an o-ring about half way up the Senko then just use a 1/0 octopus hook hooked through the o-ring. This method sometimes gets more strikes, not to mention your baits don’t get tore up making them much more affordable to use. With Texas style rigging a bait might be good for only 1 fish and at about $.70 a bait you can see where that might get really expensive fast. If you want to fish around heavier cover with a wacky rig you may want to look into weedless wacky rig hooks. You can find them in Bass Proshops catalogs or on line at http://www.basspro.com

The key to Summer smallmouths is current . Find neck downs where the river narrows with faster current areas and you will find smallmouths. Fish 3in. floating Rapala’s and small crawdad pattern crank baits. For some real excitement use top water baits such as a Pop-R by Rebel bait co. or some of the prop type baits.Good luck.

i spend everyday of my summer fishn in ponds so heres some tips. when ur fishn from shore the best time is at noon. stay pretty close to the shore. use baits like live shad, nightcrawlers, bread,. and if u want artificial baitshere is some, plastic worms, rubber minnows, spinnerbaits work best but try to stay away from crankbaits. with somebaits it will work really well for a while but then the fish start to notice what it is. so keep changing baits. good luck fishn
