What is the best color soft plastic lure/ worm to use with a red hook?
I've heard before that red hooks work pretty well when bass fishing...something about Soft Plastic it makes the lure/ worm look like its bleeding. My question is what is the best color to use with this hook. Does it even matter. I use a Texas rig on a size 3 round bend Gamakatsu hook usually. I think I've seen tv shows where the pro uses a light colored lure like chartreuse. Any help will do...thanks.

I been fishing a bridge for about 20 yrs. I have had real good luck on 2 inch artificial grub worm. Pink, White, Chartrues. Seems better when the water has risen clost to bottom of bridge. I mean really big crappie. On a boat the same colors work but crappie lure is a white straight jig. Maybe a 1/8 or 1/16. i have been doing this for about 20 yrs iin the same spot . This is what i have had lots of luck with.

I love Trigger X. I have been catching alot of smallmouth on the flappin’ craws and a swim jig with a flap dad trailer. Wal-mart is crazy to have them that cheap. They are like $6 at the Gander Mt. near me. I would take them up on that deal anyday. Trigger X lizards also work great Texas-rigged. I hope this helps. Good Luck Fishin’!!

My personal preference is a 3 hook in the Owner hook. But this particular hook has a peg and a tiny coil spring that you peg the lizard in the head and screw the coil into the lizard. This ensures the lizard stays hooked securely and will let you catch several bass without the lizard tearing up. It works great

You will need to get some RTV rubber compound to make your molds or you can use plaster of Paris. You can order RTV from Barlowstackle.com.They have all the material you need here:http://www.barlowstackle.com/pdf/plastic-worm-molds.pdfThe mold making material is available in bulk (see bottom right corner of web page above) 1 lb. containers.Jann’s net craft is another well known supplier for these materials.http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/This article will show you the necessary steps in making your own molds and a few tips for pouring your baits.http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/pouring_plastic_worms.html

nothing out there to do that, you will have to have the plastic replaced.

i have been using 6in pumpkin colored Zoom worms. they have worked well. in the post-spawn season, try using a wacky worm. the fish are fickle, but can’t seem to resist them. buzz bates and other top water lures are working really well in the early morning hours.try using these over fallen timber.
