If I remember correctly from my gardening magazine Pumpkins generally require a 100 days from planting to ripen–that’s roughly 3 1/2 months. Check you calander to about when you planted them and count forward 100 days and that should give you an approximate idea of what to expect.

Yes a summer squash, such as a crook neck squash, can cross with a pumpkin:”Cross pollination can be seen in the squashes and pumpkins. Summer squash, pumpkins, gourds, and some types of winter squash belong to the same plant species Cucurbita pepo. All species members may cross with one another.”http://lancaster.unl.edu/hort/articles/2006/Curbits.shtml”All varieties of ‘summer squash’ are in reality true pumpkins and will cross readily with each other and with other pumpkins.”http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/plantanswers/vegetables/pumpkin.htmlThe cross-pollinated fruit will likely have some characteristics of each of its parents.http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/okgard/msg032028572234.htmlYou have nothing to loose by letting them grow & seeing what happens when they mature. Your squash that is pumpkin-shaped sounds like the Gold Nugget squash.Scroll down “The Nibble” page to view the Gold Nugget squash….which is looks like a pumpkin, & is as deep orange inside as it is out. Also, look at the Green-Striped Cushaw right underneath the Gold Nugget. It has a crookneck-shape with yellow flesh &”is suited for pies and fillings because it is slightly sweet, but thick and coarse. It tastes very much like a pumpkin.”http://www.thenibble.com/reviews/main/vegetables/squash-glossary.aspGood luck!!! Hope this helps.

This may sound crazy, but pre-treat it with OxyClean. Let it absorb overnight, then use a hose with nozzle. If that doesn’t work, try the oxy again and hose again. If that doesn’t work, THEN go with a deck cleaner and power washer.

Not the best ever, but one of the most expensive. The term “better” can’t really be applied because a lure that catches fish like crazy one trip may not produce on another trip. I always let the fish decide what is the better lure for that particular day and fishing conditions. But there are times when it seems that one particular lure will catch fish at a faster rate then most other lures will, but I have found it may do that for one, two or three years and then will just quit producing all of a sudden. The ” best ever” lure for about 3 years in my area was the Stanley Ribbit Frog. Now you are lucky if you can even get a strike on it. Bass just seems like you can never fully understand them. That’s what makes it so much fun and challenging.

* Perhaps cooking it in a copper pie pan. * There is absolutely no answer to this question. Unless the pie was backed and left out on the table for a month the mold would be brown/black and not green. Are you sure you bought a pumpkin? * Leavening. If you used a lot of baking powder (sodium bicarbonate/sodium aluminum phosphate) in your crust, the pH of your filling can react with the leaving to turn it green. In the commercial food industry, companies that offer uncooked filled pastries (especially blue berry and cherry fillings) that use chemical leavening (Baking Powder) will use a fat or protein encapsulated leavening to stop the leaving action until ready to cook. Swanson Cobblers for instance. * a younger sibling could of put some green food coloring in the batter.

all colors of greens would be good with pumpkin, because they are natural to that color. And some types of blues also beige and other neutral colors. Best thing to do is to go out to any store that sells paint and grab some chip sheets on the display racks, check the colors that you like that you put with the pumpkin color you have and keep them on hand with you when you go shopping for any decor for that room.
