I asked my long-time girlfriend for a few fishing-related Christmas presents and I'm curious about one of 'em?
A couple of things I asked for were 2 JSJ Pack Rat swimbaits in " natural gray" and "black" colors. These plastic mice work like a Strike King Rage Tail Toad I think, the way the legs are and the curvy tail.My question is, IF she did get me the rats, will my G. Loomis TWFR935C Frog Series rod handle the rat's 1.6oz weight? My rod is the heaviest of the 2 frogging models, 7'9" Mag Heavy, fast action, 12-25lb test line, 3/8-1oz lures. I was told by some people that certain Loomis rods Loomis Grey can handle lures heavier than what it says on the specifications. Is this rod one of those? I use this rod with most other topwater frogs.http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/JSJ_Pack_Rat_Swimbait/descpage-JSJPRSB.html#multiviewhttp://www.tacklewarehouse.com/G_Loomis_Frog_Series_Casting_Rods/descpage-GFRCR.htmlLinks to the products so you'll know what I'm talking about.Thanks.Bob John, what are you talking about? How did I make a mistake?? Did you not read the question? I want these lures and the girlfriend is probably going to buy them for me. She does that a lot. I don't quite undestand your answer.Fisherman, you probably wouldn't lose so many fish in the grass if you were using a heavier casting rod. But thanks though, your answer helped a lot. Makes me feel a little more secure knowing my rod can handle a little extra weight on it. Mike H, if you say so dude. That was a waste of reading, totally useless info.Tony, how about answering the actual question instead of suggesting ideas that I don't want to do. Topwater frogs are topwater lures, I just use heavier gear for them. Bass live in the thick stuff, how am I supposed to rip out a 10 or 12 pound bass with light gear?

You should be fine. Most rods can handle a little over there recommended allowances- and in this case, your only going over by .6 OZ. You’ll definitely be able to cast that lure to the MOON! Just remember- The further away you hook’em the odds are good your Bass will shake off or get too bogged down in the weeds to retrieve!I use a 7′ 6″ MH Spinning rod with Power Pro 8/40 line for froggin’ and it works great- up to about 45-50 yards. If I hook a bass beyond 50 yards my landing percentage goes down to 60%-70%- (depending on how heavy the weeds are). Hope this helped ya? Good luck and don’t catch’m all!

Do you want to know which one has the most rounds played, the most members or just my opinion of which course I personally like.I’m really having a problem understanding your question.I like Twin Lakes because they have very nice greens but thats just my opinion.
