STOP – here’s some very important information about Pro Shops that you must read right now. When I was searching for Pro Shops, I wish I had found a review that would have helped me make a buying decision.
I am looking to spend a $100 gift certificate to Bass Pro Shops. I love to hunt and fish. Pro Shops Any ideas?
I have most of the basics for hunting and fishing, but was curious if anyone had any suggestions for any "must haves" that they would like to suggest.

Great selection but I find the prices a bit higher than most of the specialty stores so you have to know what it is worth when you go in!

it depends on what city/state you live in. someone who lives in ny is going to get paid higher than someone in ky or something. it depends on the area you live in. i would imagine that a basspro shop would pay near minimum wage, maybe a dollar more, tops.

Since Extreme reels are pushed by 12-Time Bassmaster Classic Qualifier, Stacey King, they’re made for bass fishing. Yes, it’ll work very well in saltwater as long as you give it a good rinse with freshwater when you’re done. Nothing hurts a helpless little bass reel more than mean ol’ saltwater…For redfish and spotted weakfish, I would go with the wider-spooled, 6.4:1 gear ratioed ETX20HC (high capacity) model.

Because Jamie McMurray does not come across as an outdoors kind of guy. Newman and Truex’s fishing exploits are well documented. And if your idea of New Jersey comes from the Sopranos, you’ll be sadly disappointed with South Jersey. Jamie Mac wasn’t really even a good fit for Crown Royal and Irwin Tools either.AJ, what this person doesn’t understand is Truex comes from a rather rural area of NJ(yes they do exsist), and spent most of his life fishing the back bays of the Jersey Shore. Once again someone goes by the media portayal of NJ.

Call 1-800-BASSPRO and tell the operator that what you are looking for is in the catalog but not online. He/she may be able to get it ordered for you right there.

Some of the pro shops at private courses don’t handle cash. The members sign for everything they purchase in the pro shop and the charge is applied to their member account number and the members are billed monthly. Usually items in any course pro shop are more for convenience and therefore more expensive than the major retailers like Dicks or Golf Galaxy.

KVD uses a Quantum® Gerald Swindle Tour Edition® PT™ Signature Series Rod PTC745FGS Med./Hvy. for cranking Strike King Sexy Shad and it seems to work for him. It also makes a fine worm/jig rod with enough backbone for flipping. About $180 at basspro.Take a look here:http://www.quantumfishing.com/fwrods/signatureseries_rods.htmlG Loomishttp://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpageRDCGLOOMIS-GLCBCR.htmlKistlerhttp://www.deloscustomtackleshack.com/rods/kistler_magnesium_ts.htmlEveryone is building a good crankbait rod. It comes down to personal taste and warranty. Both Loomis and Falcon (and the others I listed) are excellent in all regards.Just don’t go and buy a Ugly Stick!!!Added*You also have a neighbor over in Claremore, OK that custom builds rods that I highly recommend. Contact Larry Mitchell lgmitch58@cs.comHe will make whatever you like. His rods are around $125. http://www.imaginationbassin.com/gblanksproducts.htm

I recently had my 3 iron fitted with a new shaft and new grip. It only cost $40. I bet you could get it done for free or a few dollars but less than $10.

Sounds like you’re worried. If the manager finds you to be hire-able, he will most likey have you take a drug test that the company will pay for. They’ll send you to some far off lab where you’ll ” give a little bit ” in a cup and go home. Since it takes a while for the results, you will be working there for a few days up to weeks even. If you fail, you’ll be fired and black listed ( even though against the law but still happens on the down low) unless you come up with a great excuse handed down by the Lord him / herself. Other than that, if you pass, you’ll be the manager one day, get excellent discounts and first dibs on discontinued items that will be on sale on or below wholesale. Add your discount to that and you’re in heaven! ~good luck catchin’.

A pocket knife, I’m assuming? If so, Case is a very good brand, although I wouldn’t recommend buying an expensive one if you plan on using it daily. I have a couple of Case knives that I use daily, but didn’t spend a whole lot on them. I paid about 60 for each one. If you’re talking about an “all purpose” knife, Winchester and Gerber both have pretty good ones. You don’t need to spend 100+ bucks on these in my opinion. I have an 8 inch Winchsester knife that I bought for 40 bucks at Bass Pro years ago. I’ve been very pleased with it. These are great for camping and what not.Edit: To be totally honest with you, I’m not too familiar with them as far as actual models go. Mine is stainless steel, has a rubberized grip, and has about a 6 inch blade on it. If I remember correctly, I paid about 50 bucks for it. I could be mistaken though, it’s been a while since I purchased it.
