I'm looking to move to North Carolina and my number one hobby is fishing. Make an appointment with an allergist. They can do all kinds of tests to pinpoint exactly what’s causing the allergic reaction. Your tongue swelling isn’t a good sign at all. You’re already reacting badly to the fish and repeated exposure can make it worse. You need to know what to avoid so your airway doesn’t close up and kill you.

I live in Asheville and one of my favorite lakes is Lake James near Hickory. It has a great smallie population and largemouth too. Lake Fontana has walleye, smallmouth and largemouth and is more west in the mountains. Lake Wylie near Charlotte is a great largemouth lake. I have fished the New River when I was a kid.As far as rivers go we have the French Broad (smallmouth, brown trout) and Swannanoa(trout). My favorite lake here is a thermal lake south of Asheville that is electric motor only, Lake Julian. The power plant keeps water warm so fish spawn early and no smallmouth but the bass get to feed on the rare talapia population in the lake. The fish are always health and no trash on banks or in water. Local resturants serve the talapia from the lake. Good luck I dont know much east past Winston Salem.

water temperature is too cold, plus in a lake like that one, power bait is just laying around and fish can snap up any chunk they would like. Use salmon eggs when the sun in straight up in the sky and glaring down on the lake, use power eggs at the same point in time, I sometimes even combine the two. If you are fishing at night or when the sun is low and the lake is shaded, use live crickets or worms.

Yeah, I get the idea, the idea that you are lazy and either feel no need to read books about each fish, you can’t read so you hope everyone here tells the truth or both.

Both my dogs are raw fed and I include fish in their diet. The only fish you need to be certain to not feed your dogs is raw salmon. It has been known to carry a parasite that is toxic to dogs.I always freeze raw fish for two weeks before giving it to my dogs to err on the side of caution. This will usually kill any parasites the fish may be carrying. However, I do know raw feeders who feed their dogs raw fish fresh from the water and have never had any problems. It depends on your comfort level.
