” Hills Like White Elephants,” is an allegory of the innocence of what seemed to be but is not (Jig’s love towards an American man) from Jig’s perspective in regards to her affair with a man who simply sees the pleasure in being with her in the flesh. Innocence is revealed when Jig orders a drink that she has never had before, and does not know the taste of. This is an allegory which develops into mixed feelings as the story unfolds. That she perceives the hills as being like white elephants can be exemplified as her taste of her drink being described as licorice, for lack in her experience in better expressing its flavor more accurately.

I really like using the road-runner feather baits. Went out this last march chucking green, red, and white. Both my friend and i had limits each of sandies and crappie (25/person/species/day) in under 1 1/2 hrs. Granted that was a sensational day, but if there are fish to be caught, those road-runners usually find them. the road-runner jig heads with grub bodies work well too.

Depends on time of year. Cold water you want small baits and fish them dead sticked one turn off the bottom of the lake. Chartreuse slabs are a good all around white bass bait.

You know what, I think it is totally appropriate, you’re marrying the man you love, and you have a son together, what could be more pure than that?

I liked the maddening thing philosophy… very true. And as for lemons, I prefer Ron White’s view of life: “when life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Then find someone whose life has given them vodka, and have a party.”

soft plastics are some of the best baits for bass so u should use them. if u do decide to use some get senkos they are awesome. get some weedless jigs, and put a yum wooly bug on for a trailer and pitch it into the pads. some hard baits that are good are teminater spinnerbaits. buzzbaits will work great in and around the pads. also use crankbaits around the edge of the weeds. but u will almost always catch more bass on soft plastics such as worms and lizards. if u are having a bad day fishing switch to a weightless lizard rigged weedless. toss it onto the pads and slowly creep it back in the bass will explode on it. hope this helps.

I almost never use the same color head as my tube, curly tail, marabou jigs. Color combinations can be the answer sometimes. I generally only use unpainted, chartreuse, white, or black jig heads. I don’t really want them to blend. Since I’m not a fish, I don’t know exactly how they are perceiving the color. I just want to make sure that something gives them interest.

No, but they were planning on it. That was basically the undercurrent of the whole story. She was having second thoughts and he still thought they should go through with it.

Damn it, some other people have already told you about those Eagle Claw snelled hooks! Eagle Claw hooks are not of the best quality as of Owner or Gamakatsu but they are good enough for me. A pack of snelled hooks by Eagle Claw costs $1.00 at Wal-Mart (6 pack of hooks). For bass & bluegill both, a good size of hook would be size 6 or 8. Really want to catch some bass? Pick up a pack of 6″ plastic worms. Curly tailed. What are my personal favorite colors? Motor oil, black w/ blue flake, purple, grape, anything that is darker. Red shad is a good color, too. Get a pack of 6″ Berkley Power-bait Power Worm in red shad. Get a pack of 2/0 or 3/0 hooks (Here are some VMC branded hooks – http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_58032____SearchResults) and a small package of bullet weights (like these BPS ones – http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_7563____SearchResults I like the 1/16 or 1/8 oz. size) and you’re ready to catch some bass!To rig this set-up (named the Texas rig) you simply stick your line through one end of the bullet weight and out the other of the weight. Tie a Palomar knot on the VMC worm hook (Here’s how to tie the knot – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiDDdW22X9k). Then, it’s time to rig your worm. (Here is a video on how to texas rig – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfZotKBBH8k)What kind of rod and reel is good for wormin’? I like a good, stout 6 – 6 1/2 ft. Medium-heavy trigger rod, with a low gear ratio baitcasting reel filled with 14 lb. Stren. Use heavier line if the cover is thick, but don’t hold back from throwing the bait in the weeds, the Texas rig is weed less (AKA won’t get tangled up in the weeds as easy). Now, you are actually going to fish the bait. You head out to the lake. How are you going to fish the bait? Here’s how – Make a good, long cast out to that good looking spot … let the worm sink to the bottom. Give your rod a few jerks, and then reel in some slack, give the rod a few jerks and reel in some more slack. Vary the retrieve speed of the lure to find what the bass likes best. More than likely, you will find a presentation that the bass will like.Do you need any more help? Visit – http://www.bassresource.com for some of the best bass fishing info on the web. Send me an e-mail about any of you’re relating questions to bass fishing. After you master the art of plastic wormin’, you’re bass fishing abilities will flourish out tremendously. You have just learned how to fish the most deadly bass fishing lure on the market!Happy fishing.

ive had great success with a yellow dare devil spoon with either red or black diamonds on the back.if you watch around sometimes you can get a big bunch of them but not always.http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20309&id=0023712110855a&navCount=4&podId=0023712&parentId=cat20309&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IA&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20309&hasJS=true

good luck. the entire dialogue never mentions what they are discussing, so it might be hard to do it that way.but if you can find some parts where the man is controlling or seems to be making the decisions, you can show that he doesn’t care about her.one part i really remember is when jig grabs two strands of beads from the curtain. you could examine the symbolism of the curtain or the importance of the recurring “two’s” throughout the story
