i would only get 5 for now.. you dont want to overload the tank.then after a while like a week get 5 more.slow is the key point.max, you don want more than 30 max. The often come in unhealthy so make sure you only have healthy ones. They are easy breeders so dont get many as they will be breeding in around spring.

hey man, they should last for a good long while in the bucket as long as you dont let them get really hot. as the oxygen and all goes see if your local bait and tackle shop has some oxygen and food tablets. it is just a small tablet that you drop in the water. (the reason that most water is blue when you buy minnows) it will keep the minnows alive for a few days. like i said as long as you dont let them get too hot. hope that helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience

It would be safe to assume if they aren’t, they will be. With the Wabash, Ohio and the Kankankee rivers dumping into the Mississippi with no barriers to stop their entrance, These water sheds have or will soon have identified the snakehead fish. They have found Snakehead DNA in the Calsag water way in Northern Indiana just southeast of Chicago. The caught one in the harbor of Chicago But, no official designation as such of the fish. There was talk of wanting to close off the Chicago river connection to Lake Michigan and some other drainage areas but Industry stopped that nonsense. The snakehead doesn’t impact them. They don’t care if the Snakehead gets into the Great Lakes. There have been some Bow fin caught in Indiana but no snakehead have been identified. Until someone definitively identifies the snakehead here in Indiana, we don’t have them. With several feeder rivers dumping into the Mississippi river I can’t see how we don’t have Snakehead fish here.I’m stocking up on Soy, rice etc. I’m on my way to Walmart to see if they have any Woks. I hear Snakeheads are delicacies in the Orient so I’ll be looking up some recipes too. I hear once Snakeheads invade the waters they pretty well eliminate all competition. The only thing left will be snakeheads. When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade. When the scientists make yet another environmental error by introducing Snakeheads to southern fisheries and they get loose and invade your area make Snakehead fish fillets.

I heard about this. Its ridiculous to have to import our food now over a endangered fish.
