Ok, let us first start with a review of Craw Jigs:
I was impressed with Craw Jigs plain and simple. When I placed my order, I had in in my hands within 3 days and the price was great. The key is looking for a seller with over a 100 feedback rating on Ebay. I’ve even included the top Ebay listings to Craw Jigs in this review to make it even easier on you.
Tournament bass fishing as a coangler.?
I will be fishing a bass tournament as a co angler this weekend on Pickwick Lake.Got any ideas on what I need to throw at em?I will be Craw Jigs fishing from the back of the boat and my boater may be bed fishing as they should be spawning now.My options will more than likely be limited to cruising bass that have,nt locked on to beds yet.I,ve never fished this lake before and would appreciate some insight to what they like best here.I,m thinking maybe swim jigs craws or topwaters.

Pickwick has a lot of Small Mouths…I really doubt he will be bed fishing…but if he is there is something I learned from being a Co-Angler for the past 8 years…you can always drag a Carolina Rig behind him or fan cast the area because there will still be beds you can not see…a Shaky Head worm will work also…but for the Small Mouths you want to use a Tube…Green Pumpkin or a Brown is a good choice of colors…what I always try to do is do something different than the boater…if he is fishing the same way I am, I will use a different color…the trick is to fish where he has not and to give them a different look…for example…i fished with a guy who was on some fish…the fish were on a primary then secondary river ledge…he was catching his fish by dragging a jig…so I drug a Carolina Rig in the same area…we both caught limits and were culling most of the day…another bit of advice I can give you is…for example if he is fishing a buzz bait, throw a weightless fluke…I have caught untold amounts of fish behind a guy throwing a buzz bait…like I said before the trick is to do something different…hope this helps…EDIT: Sooner Ed…in the FLW Federation the No-Boater gets half the day to fish where they want and can use the trolling motor and be in the front of the boat for half the day….I never use the trolling motor unless I am asked to, but I do from time to time have spots I want to try and I get my boater to go there…I guess it also helps that in my club we have to give the boater, or at least offer them $30 for gas…I fish in the GA FLW BASS Federation…

In this case you need to target what species you want to go for. For catfish, use live crawlers or maybe some soft bait crawfish. Chicken livers are the best if you can come by them. For bass, most of the STORM lures will work. Try crankbaits and spinnerbaits as well. For sunfish, downgrade a bit. Use a small hook and a piece of insect or worm. Good luck with your fishing and don’t be afraid to keep testing out those Rapalas. You may have the wrong color or type.
