My sisters spoiled and my mum doesn't seem to care much?
I'm 14 and the eldest of four siblings. My problem lies with my youngest sister of 9. She is a spoiled little madam, always getting her way. My mum will be very reluctant to shout at her or reprimand her, regardless of what she does. Only 5 minutes ago, my sister was in bad form because the shops were sold out of the Halloween costume she wanted and she had to make do with a homemade one as the school fancy dress party is tomorrow. She's being some random bride thing and I go to fi her veil for her as it's all twisted and stuff. Without warning she turns around and slaps my arm, very hard. I'm nearly in tears and my mum is ignoring the situation as usual. I am VERY short tempered and hot headed (my mum knows this) so I turn around and shove her arm, but she stumbles and 'hits her head' without making a sound. She starts crying loudly as usual and my mum comes running, her hearing now Jig Homemade fixed, maybe my cry of pain unblocked her ears. I am shouted at without the chance to explain what happened and after my mum has finished her rant I tell her te full story. This seems to fall on deaf ears and she continues as if she hasn't heard me, after trying to interupt me at every opportunity when I was speaking. She shouts at me again and tells me to go to my room after apologizing to my sister. I tell her I will as soon as my sister apologizes to me, but that doesn't seem to please her and I am forced to apologize (which I have no problems with if she also apologizes) and as I leave the romm my mum says half heartedley to my sister to 'not hit her again'. She then proceeds to bring my sister in to the living room so she can see her heavy jig that she is performing at her next feis (my sister is an Irish dancer just like her mother before her). That's another thing I find unfair. My mum is more than happy to go to the feis's so my sister can dance, often in a completely different county that will cost her around £40 for the day including petrol, entry fees food and accommodation if needed. I am a musician, and my mum constantly complainsabout having to drop memory for my lesson once a week and when we have our yealrly concerts for orchestra, when I ask if she'll go she'll always complain about the cost of the tickets (around 5-10 pounds, the same price as entry fees for a feis) and will complain that she doesn't want to go and listen to us play for an hour or two. I find this infuriating as she is more than happy to spend a fortune on my sister, including all that ridiculous regalia they wear of the dresses wigs and make up , and spend possibly an entire day in a different county, but hasn't been to one of my concerts in seven years. Am I being totally unreasonable? Can anyone tell me what to do? I'm really unhappy and very annoyed with all of this, please help.
