jigs Best deals for Shad Darts

Ok, let us first start with a review of Shad Darts:

I was impressed with Shad Darts plain and simple. When I placed my order, I had in in my hands within 3 days and the price was great. The key is looking for a seller with over a 100 feedback rating on Ebay. I’ve even included the top Ebay listings to Shad Darts in this review to make it even easier on you.

Can you show me a diagram for the correct way to use shad darts?
I am not familiar with shad darts or the way they are used. Can you show me an illustration of some sort? Also, if I am going to Shad Darts be fishing the American River for the American shad, what would be a good color combo?I have heard that the weight of the dart head will be sufficient, then I was also told that the dart is tied to a 2 foot leader with a sliding 1 ounce weight on the other end... what is the deal? Thanks.Caunltd, I will be at the end of Fruitridge at the "minnow hole". Are you famliar with that area?

here’s what i do:i use six pound test line and a light action rodtie on a single dart (i stick with 1/8oz most of the time (never bigger) and sometimes throw 1/16 oz.) with a palomar knot….or tie on a dart with a palomar then go up the line about a foot to a foot and a half and tie on a second using a palomar knot. tandem rigs catch more fish and often doubles.cast it out and let it sink towards the bottom, then reel slowly while either sweeping or jerking (darting) your rod the opposite direction of the currentwhen it tightens up just sweep the rod don’t set it like you’re bass fishingmake sure your drag is set lightly or you’ll break off doubles or the big onescatch em and release emand have fun.

red head, white body. Chartruese head, pink body. Both are producers for me on the AR. I’ve found that most of the time you are better off using a little shot on the line as opposed to just the weight of the jig, but that’s mainly because I’m using 1/8 and 1/16oz jigs. I wouldn’t use heavier, regardless of what you’re told. If the bite is off, the smaller presentations, even down to 1/32, can prove to get hits. Either rigging with shot and bouncing and jigging it over the bottom, or rigging with a float is preferred on the AR. Where are you going to be? That actually makes a difference when you’re out there. I have better luck with different methods in different places on the American.EDIT: Yes, I know where you’re talking about. I also know that’s not the American – that’s the Sac. lol

Shad Darts dare and provoke fish to strike. The bucktail design of the tail is tapered from the front to the back to create lifelike movement. Originally developed as a shad jig, fishermen quickly embraced the shad dart and expanded its use to other species. The wide, flattened shape of the head gives the lure a darting and erratic action in the water to appeal to striper’s, white bass and other game fish.First locate productive water then try several casts using a variety of jigging or hopping action.
