Atheists: have you ever had a fish hook caught in your skin? Remember how hard and painful it was to pull?
it out? Well, my friends, Satan has his fish hooks in you and the longer you keep pretending God doesn't exist, the deeper those fish hooks go. Why won't you pull them out now before it's too late?

I don’t know of many ways to prevent a fish from gorging a hook. If a fish really wants to gulp down the lure or fly, there are only a couple things you can really do to improve the situation.First, set the hook quickly and lightly. The point is to get the fly into the fish’s lip or mouth parts, so by simply setting the hook quickly, you lessen the chance of the fly getting down into the throat. Probably easier said that done. It’s kinda tricky because it all happens in less than a second, but I suspect if you work at a hatchery and you’re catching fish all the time, you’ll get better at this fairly quickly.Second, and maybe more importantly, use barbless hooks and a hook remover. Small flies with no barb on the hook do surprisingly little damage to a fish’s mouth/throat, and they’re super simple to get out. Sometimes if you just release tension on a barbless hook it will fall out. This won’t help you prevent fish from gorging the hook, but it’ll help the fish survive if the fly does get down into the throat. Using a good hook remover, the kind that slips over the line and down onto the hook, will also decrease fish injury because you can get the hook out without having to hold onto the fish so much, and you won’t have to touch the fish as much.

Yup’, it can be done
. Reside in CA. : ( and a good amount of the rivers in this state are Barbless. A very simple rule of thumb when usin’ this type hook ~ “tip up and tight lines” eg., when fish is hung keep the tip of your rod up (“tip up”), which in turn helps keep tension on the line itself (“tight lines”). Tension on line is one of the key factors along with the initial, “good setting of the hook”…Lot of fellas that I know will purchase Barbless hooks, I’ll just simply use pliers to crimp (flatten) barb down but, there are tools on the market that are specifically designed to do this. When using a file, one runs inta’ the problem of the file accidentally hitting and damaging the sharpness of the hook point, however goin’ with a “Rat Tail” file instead of a flat type may help eliminate this. Do not mean to contradict anyone because every angler has his/hers own methods

Well, the game does that to make it harder. Search google for Rapala Tournament Fishing and check for good lures.

You should have her seen by a veterinarian. They will treat her as inexpensively as they can, but unfortunately it may require sedation to remove the hook. Leaving it there will cause an infection, abscess, septicemia, etc. And these will be much more expensive to treat in the long run. If you are not a veterinary or medical professional, then I doubt you are capable of evaluating her pain. She probably is uncomfortable (how comfortable would you be?) and unfortunately there isn’t anything over the counter you can give her that isn’t toxic to her. If you leave it there, she will only get more uncomfortable as the inflammatory process takes place and if not removed, she could suffer and also be sensitive in this area for the rest of her life. If you are strapped for cash, see about borrowing from a friend or family. You can also apply for a credit card called Care Credit that offers different types of financing. You’ll need to make sure that your vet’s office takes it though. Their website is http://www.carecredit.com and you can apply on-line.
