I’ve had the exact same problem here in kansas. It could be one of two thingsA cold front/low pressure system will stall fish activity for a few days while they become accustomed to the barometric pressure and temps. this will usually last a week at most. Also, they may have been driven deeper and slowed activity in preparation for the fall feed. This is when fish concentrate on fattening up for the winter. to fish deeper, find a submerged structure and fish SLOW as possible. Underwater stumps, hills, humps and underwater channels. Try dropping a jig in natural colors in these areas or use a suspending swimbait or crank bait that will get down there to the depth you want . Fish slow… do a lot of pauses and slow swimming followed by an occasional jerk. Hope this helps…good luck

  2. BOBBER Says:

Walleye for sure. In northern minnesota every pothole and creek as well as most every lake has northern pike that jump on your hook just to look at it it seemes. Especially the smaller ones. Walleye are fairly common but not as easy to catch.

  3. BOBBER Says:

This time of the year go with a large minnow or crankbait for walleye and saugers

  4. Missy Says:

Best lures to use for bass or walleyes are Kicktails. They’re the BEST and really cool lures. – ma

ONE bait to catch ALL these species???only one thing will fill that bill.a NIGHTCRAWLER. you can add another dozen or more species to that list. many fish will fall to a well placed ‘crawler.

  6. Green!! Says:

Big, large lipped crank baits for a lot of wobble, use fat ones that go between 12 and 25 feet (depending on how deep the water is) and use a rather natural color. hope i was of some help =]“`good catchin“`

  7. Fishing for Truth Says:

Bass and Northern in the shallows – buzz baits or fly fishing with a streamerdeeper water – Canadian Wigglers. (colour and rattler etc. depending)Walleye Erie Dearies or Canadian Wigglers. (colour and rattler etc. depending)Ice Fishing for Northern or Walleye Cisco swimming or flipping spoons.

  8. Vanli Luchan Says:

High productive area on the west side of the sunken railway tracks near Harwood. 4 to 6″ Rapala or curl tail grub with wader on the sandy beach early morning and evening an hour b4 sunset.

  9. Josh Says:

There is no “best” bait for any kind of fish throughout the year in any given location. The best bait today may not be the best bait tomorrow. Theres too many factors like temperature, cold fronts/warm fronts, lakes rising and dropping and so on. Generally good all around baits for bass are plastic texas rigged worms, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, rooster tails, and jigs when the bite is a little slow. When all else fails live bait like shinners are almost a sure bet.for the Walleye your best bet is larger shinners and shad although they can be caught pretty decent on baitfish style jerkbaits. swimbaits, and spinnerbaits. Storm makes some great looking swimbaits that imitate sunfish, crappie, minnows, or walley.
