Buying Painted Rapala was one of the best investments I ever made. I highly endorse it.
How long should you wait before using a freshly-painted room?
I painted the trim in my room a few hours ago, using a latex primer and Painted Rapala a latex paint. The paint has dried, but there's still a slight smell in the room. I've opted to not sleep in there this evening, but was wondering if there was a standard amount of time to wait before spending extended amounts of time in a freshly-painted room.

According to Stefan-Boltzmann law power radiated from a surface is proportional to the fourth power of absolute surface temperature:P = ε∙σ∙A∙T^4(ε emissivity, σ Stefan-Boltzmann constant, A surface area)Radiant power is the same for both paints. i.e.:ε_light ∙ σ ∙ A ∙ (T_light)^4 = ε_dark ∙ σ ∙ A ∙ (T_dark)^4 < =>ε_light ∙ (T_light)^4 = ε_dark ∙(T_dark)^4 Hence:T_light = T_dark ∙ (ε_dark/ε_light)^(1/4) = (80+273)K ∙ (0.71/0.50)^(1/4) = 385K= 112°C

I’m no doctor, by any means, but I would not hesitate to bring the children in. I wouldn’t think twice about it after 24 hours. Be sure the carpet can be walked on within its first 24 hours though. Call your carpet installer to be certain. The paint, however, will be fine. I have always let my little man in as soon as the paint is dry and we can no longer smell the fumes. To know whether or not you are just “used to it” leave for a while and come back. In the future, the paint-pouri that wal mart sells (it is a liquid fragrance you pour into paint to make it smell good) works great. My two year old actually helped me paint when we used this.

You can’t, not with acrylics anyway. Acrylic paint is a poly based paint which means it is a type of plastic paint when it dries.Painting something that dries hard on a soft surface won’t work.It will chip every time you bend it or squeeze it.You need to find a paint that can be used on rubber.

The easiest way is to rag paint over it using a “ragging on” method with a lighter color of golden yellow. Ragging on is easy to control the “density” of added color.

To protect the artwork you have just done on the table i would recomend you use a good few coats of laquer or clear varnish this will protect your picture and seal the table from unwanted staining. hope this helps a bit.

Your answer is coming to you from richardlibertpainting.com. Apparently the seepage is due to the glue from the wallpaper not being washed properly. When the room is hot with condensation this glue seeps through the topcoat. To repair this problem, reduce condensation by using A/C unit or fans. Once dry apply one coat of B-I-N primer alcohol base and four hours later you can topcoat with any 100% acrylic coating. If this job becomes too much call the pros at 813-770-1673.

I completely stripped a 1906 pre-craftsman house. DO NOT SAND! You definitely have lead paint in there. I would use CitriStrip and ReadyStrip for the job. Citristrip works better on latex paint, the ready strip on lead.Use good gloves and plastic scrapers until the very end when you’ll need some dental-type tools to get the last bits out.Also, don’t use a heat gun unless you know what you’re doing. Heat + lead paint = lead gas.There is also a light you can get that I haven’t tried, but it supposedly heats the paint to the point where it comes off but not hot enough to vaporize.Good Luck!

OUCH…As a professional woodworker turned artist 20 years ago I know the properties of wood and paint. I still work with wood and hopefully this isn’t a nice desk that someone decided to paint… Just can’t stand great wood like walnut or oak with paint… Arrrr…..Here is a product that pulls even the toughest paint stains out. It may destroy the paint on the desk though. I really doubt it. Since the desk has been painted a long time longer than the stuff on top I’d try Crazy clean. I’ve used it on my workbench. (Which is painted particleboard.)http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/crazyclean.phpThey use this stuff to remove graffiti on buildings… It even removes permanent marker…. Large can is $5.00Once you clean this I would suggest getting a piece of ¼” birch plywood and sanding a nice edge and let it overlap by just a little on the front and covering the desk area… Leave it natural if you want or take some Johnson’s paste wax and wax the wood up…

Sounds like Hieronymous Bosch to me. Have a look at his work and see if it’s who you are looking for.
