STOP – here’s some very important information about Jigs Macdaddy that you must read right now. When I was searching for Jigs Macdaddy, I wish I had found a review that would have helped me make a buying decision.
For Spring bass fishing, which is more important: a setup for lipless cranks or a setup for jigs and lizards?
I already have a spinnerbait setup for reaction Jigs Macdaddy strikes, but I also have a finesse setup for casting light worms and tubes at docks and stuff. Which should be the next step for me? Another reaction strike type setup for lipless cranks or a slow presentation type setup for jig and pigs and texas rigged plastic lizards? Remember this is for the Spring.

A jig is a type of lively dance music of Irish origin. You might see the term “gigue” used as well. They’re most commonly in 6/8 time, but other meters are used too.An air is just basically a song.A polka is another type of lively dance music. It’s usually in duple meter. It originated in central Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, etc.)

Chop an onion into very small pieces and put them in a small container, (something like a little pill bottle) tip the end of your hook with a small piece of onion after you hook your minnow thru both the lower and upper lip. You will be surprised how this helps you out attracting the crappie to your bait. Not to get off the subject if you are using jigs put them in the small container with the onions and shake it up, then use your jigs. These are the best crappie live bait Worms that I have used. I am not much for using worms to catch crappie, but one worm I have had good luck using has been “what is commonly called an “angle worm” You know those little critters that crawl all over your sidewalk when it rains.

Depending on size, you can murder crappie with them, i do. I’ve also caught bass, and the occasional channel catfish on that color.

The temperature factor is what you need to be aware of. Try keeping the plastics covered and out of the sun. Conceivably you could even cool them with ice or something but I have never needed to do that.

I think what you are looking for is called Hillenbrand. The website below doesn’t appear to have what you are specifically looking for, but they do have lots of various lures.

l have had good results with the “arkie” rattles i’ve gotten at walmart. my biggest problem with them is fitting them into the tiny holes on the holders. but once on, the only ones l’ve lost was when l lost the whole jig in a snag.l didn’t find any l liked at BPS either. they had lindys or something like that but l don’t care for them. l do like the arkies.

Kinda but no. You can slow roll a spinnerbait along the bottom but they have blades that are designed to spin to create vibration and flash. spinnerbaits are kinda like jigs w/ blades… kinda. As I said you can slow roll them or reel them straight

trim off the weed guards and use them with small root beer colored curly tail grubs for surf perch and corbina.or you can use them with a live minnow or leech for walleye and smallmouth.also good for ice fishing.

i like to use beetlespin or worms. they work great for bass. i live 2 hours from san antonio so i think they should be the same.

i have used the extreme action slashbait for bass fishing and it is mildly effective. I basically reel it slow and work it very minimally since it has so much action on its own

Well seems like your doing the right thing with fishing around wooden structure. Also don’t forget about any wooden structure that is on the windy side of the lake, this will push plankton, bugs, and bait fish near the shore. The wind causes waves which will knock any plankton or small crustaceans off logs, or out of rocks. Keep fishing the wooden structure, don’t forget about the windy side of the lake, use that fish finder, and get after em’! It wont be to much longer before they start stacking up around shallow wood structure to spawn, then you can really rip some lips. Also if you have looked closely, on the logs, trees or what not, that are shallow, they have algae/moss and that also attracts the bait fish because they like to nibble on it. As far as using a jig or minnow, i would say use a jig, like a crappie magnet first. If the bite is tough and you’re not catching very many then go to the minnow. If the bite gets even tougher, and they have “lockjaw” then go with a jig tipped with a minnow. or a jig tipped with a piece of night crawler. Hope this helps, Good luck fishin’!
