I would make sure the water temperature and parameters are the same and just dump them in. Make sure you remove the glass stones and slate first so you don’t accidentally crush one of them. This would be the easiest and least stressful way to transfer the fry.If there’s no other fish in the 50 liter container then you can put them in there any time you wish.

The hatchery advice is probably correct. I do most of my camping and fishing at a private lake/campground. We stock the lake regularly and even in the warmer months we sometimes don’t see any of the “new” fish for a week or two. Even after the fish get used to their new home you won’t see or catch near as many in the colder weather. As previously stated catfish are bottom dwellers. The bream go deeper as the water cools. They all become less active. They feed less. Don’t worry about it till the water starts warming in the spring. The time to be concerned is when the water warms to 50-60 degrees and you still can’t find them.

im sorry to say…this kind of thing can just happen with the stress of moving them into a new home … its is possibly nothing you did

you did not cycle the tank and never wash it out with bleach ever, you are probably going to loose them unless you have a cycled tank you can put them in.

Dreams of death represent the ending of one phase so that a new one can begin. It can show forthcoming finalities such as the end of a marriage or career. These are symbolic dreams and are unlikely to forecast an actual event. If the dead person is someone you know, consider what aspect of yourself that person represents. For example, if you dream of your mother dying could it represent the ‘death’ of the motherly side of your own nature. Perhaps you should try to be more caring and maternal or perhaps plans you have should be nurtured rather than killed off. Alternatively, you may also be expressing your hidden feelings about the person shown. Do you have a secret resentment towards them or desire to be independent of them? Dead animals may also represent aspects of yourself. They indicate that you may be rejecting or repressing your instinctive side.

By the way guys, the “Nemo” rod by Phoenix Blaze Rods on Ebay is a bargain at $60-$70. If you need a medium-heavy action spinning outfit you should check it out…..well worth the price. Cool Q CS, thanks.CS- MN is heaven in the Summer and Heck in the Winter! At least for someone like me who was raised on the swamp’s of Jacksonville/Gainesville Florida! This winter has been particularly cold and miserable; I’ve only managed to ice-fish a handful of times.

most any soft bait sized correctly will work.READ THIS
nce you tie on your hook using a palomar knot, run the tag end of the line back down thru the eye of the hook BEFORE attaching your weight. this will make the hook stand straight out with the point up, everything in the correct position.most soft plastics have a fairly neutral buoyancy. they will trail correctly but you can use floaters if you wish.the ones with the heavier quantity of salt in them are the ones that will sink quickest. if just the outside is salted, it will soon rinse off and worm will float easier.

You could probably feed him cat or dog food, cut up hot dog, raw pieces of meat, live bait would be a good supplement and very cool to watch him eat, earthworms might be enjoyed, he will have a personal food preference on some things, they will eat cheese though. Feed him a few tiny cubes of meat or cheese, a dozen pieces of pet food broken up if necessary, 2-4 1-1.5 inch minnows or fry. As he gets older you can feed him bigger and more things. He will definitely get big enough that eventually you will have to put him in one of your ponds and you can still feed him cat food or such things in the pond they will come up to get it. You should provide something of a structure similar to a log jam or fallen tree top. Don’t have too much light or he probably won’t come out much. Good friends for him might be another catfish of similar size, or bluegilll of sufficient size but they tend to be food hogs so you might not want sunnies. I would go with other catfish preferably get bullheads next time because they tend to stay around 12 inches as a max length. Large rock would make a good substrate. Good luck with the little guy and make sure the tank is plenty 55 gal would be a good size for a few small cats.

Can you tell us your exact water stats? And did you use a liquid test kit or water test strips? (Water test strips are often inaccurate) Also, there’s no real need to treat with Melafix and Pimafix, especially since you don’t exactly know what’s going on. Also, Melafix and Pimafix are basically just water, with some plant extracts added, and they can even sometimes do more harm than good. (Doesn’t mean they will – it just doesn’t help at all, sometimes)Do you have any idea of the symptoms before death? I realize you were at work, but if you noticed anything irregular before they died, what was it?This is truly a strange case, and I’m not exactly sure what happened, but all I suggest is that you stop treatment with Pimafix and Melafix, do a 50% water change in your 55 gallon, and just keep a sharp eye on those rosies. If they die, do a full clean of the QT tank, (restart the cycle) and if you get new rosies, introduce them even slower then usual to your 55. (or indoor pond, whichever comes first)Good luck.EDIT: You should go out and get a liquid test kit. It will be good for the long run.And no, I highly doubt it was the cave. They make aquarium decorations so that they are safe for aquariums. And if something was wrong with it, the goldfish would have a problem as well.Oh yeah, and another side note: Don’t waste your money on carbon. I used to buy it every month for 3 years, until I realized that it only actually absorbs impurities for 4-7 days, and after that, it’s no good. Plus, it’s not needed, unless you need to remove meds. In your case, right now you’ll probably need it if you’re going to be treating with meds (but don’t treat unless you know what’s wrong, which right now, you don’t), but other than that, you don’t need carbon.Just some money saving advice.
Good luck again.EDIT 2: Well, do a 50% water change of the QT tank, daily. When it doubt – water change. They always help.

hey man, i bought the banjo kit i guess about a year and a half ago. i have worked the bass over with this lure. i especially like the ones that are clear with blue specks and blue on the top. and i like the green and white ones the most i use the red weighted metal eyes on all that i use. the lure is a great lure. alot of people think that this lure is a gimmick lure but i have all kinds of luck with these lures. especially in the summer. i have heard from others that they have caught all kinds of fish off these lures from tarpon, bass, sailfish, peacock bass and an assortment of other fish. man i hope that you have as much luck with them as i did. the lures action is all in your wrist. let it sink and just twitch and reel a little twitch and reel a little. this isn’t a fast reeling lure so take your time and have fun and also remember when you feel a strike wait dont rush it and then pull the tip of your rod to the side not straight up. pull the rod at a 7 o’clock or 5 o’clock angle. have fun with this lure. good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience

Having a fish grow too fast isn’t a good result either. Keep feeding him the varied diet, and let nature take it’s course. And be careful with any kind of feeder fish, with diseases and such. And whatever they consume in a 5minute span is enough, make sure you get out what they don’t eat. And hopefully you have the Oscars in a large tank…. in a small tank you will stunt their growth and that is not good at all.

Try bloodworms or tubifex worms. Minnows usually like these. You can also try a small floating pellet instead of the flakes.

Hm….doesn’t sound like a very reputable place, and shouldn’t you have asked this question BEFORE purchasing from them?Sounds like you should try and find an exotics vet in your area, that can give your new turtle a basic health evaluation.Since when are snapping turtles considered domestic pets, by the way?

Whats your water temperature?Trout are actually true coldwater fish. Room temperature is actually too warm for them. You may need a chiller to get the temp down below 18C (65F) for the fish to be happy.Ian

Yes they will bite on top water lures. Just like another answerer said the Rapala Original Floater is the best option. Just two weeks ago i was using a small original floater to catch trout that swimming around with a bunch of minnows. You can just twitch it on the surface, or let it set there, or reel it in very slow It is a very affective lure, and will catch allot of different species of fish. Flies are another good option to, im not a fly fisherman, but i like to tie one on and try to cast it out there to see what happens. Flies are very affective when you’re fishing off of a bridge and you can just dangle them down onto the surface of the water. Heck i had two trout nip at my Koppers Live Target Sunfish when i let it set there on the surface, don’t know what they were thinkin?!? Good luck fishin’ hope this helps!

First thing that comes to my mind is ammonia and nitrite poisoning. Why did you add so many fish at one time? If your tank is cycling, it needs to cycle with no fish. Adding even one fish knocks the biofilter out of whack. But to add 14 fish, yikes! Your ammonia had to have been going thru the roof for the first few days. You should only add 1-2 fish at a time and a week – two weeks apart allowing your biofilter to recover inbetween additions.Melafix and other antibiotics aren’t going to help with stocking issues. The fish that were left more than likely got ammonia burns (lesions) Water change is your best friend when this happens. Remember do not add that many fish at one time. That would be equal to having 14 friends stay over with only one bathroom.

She is suffering from a lack of oxygen. This can be caused by several things, namely lack of water movement and higher nitrates. Your water quality is suspect…what parameters are you testing? With all that leftover food and no filter I have a hard time grasping how your levels are all at zero.It is clear there is no filter or other water movement device in the tank; the water is stagnant. With stagnant water like that it doesn’t take long for oxygen levels to be depleted. Add surface water movement and keep the water quality up and you should see improvement. Some methylene blue in her quarantine tank can help (but will stain things blue) as it will help improve gill function so she gets more oxygen. It is very commonly used for nitrate poisoning and also is great on preventing fungal and protozoan infections. Then work on adding surface water movement and keep up on water changes.

Did you mean an African Dwarf Frog? They are awesome!!! I have two (Edward and Sidd). You’re conditions seem fine, just maybe a little crowded. You should be good though. They really frozen bloodworms! You sound like a very responsible pet owner. Enjoy your new froggy if you get one! They are so cool!~<><~

You can get away with a smaller tank for the first few months. My yellow bellied sliders are also around one inch and i have a 2ft by 1ft tank which i’d expect them to grow out of before the year is out. You also need a water heater (not a heat mat) a good filter and a UV light. They will be ok without a basking light while the weather is warm but they will need one before the winter comes. They should also have a basking dock. Mine eat a mix of different things. They love fruit and veg, especially cucumber for some reason! They also eat prawns and raw fish. They can eat live fish but I havn’t given mine any yet. I also give them dried food a couple of days a week as it has all the vitamins in it they need. You need to be changing 20-30% of the water every single week because if you don’t keep them really clean they can get infections from the water. They’re brilliant animals and I love mine to bits but they take a lot of hard work, so make sure it’s something you’re prepared to do!
