scarification ins and outs?
I've been working on a butterfly on my lower thigh. I try to postpone healing by using vaseline but I still heal too quickly, so for the past few months, I've been cutting over the old scar tissue and now I'm rubbing cigarette ashes into the wound. Time alone will tell how well that will go (but darn it hurt considerably more LOL) I'm laying down typing this on my iPod Craft Pointer touch because I feel like barfing LOLPerhaps my cuts (with an exacto knife) aren't deep enough?I would love some pointers from others who know this craft.thanks!Thank you for your concern and suggestions. No fears. I have Tobradex to use at the first sign of infection (it's a prescription antibiotic/steroid cream)I don't think I went deeply enough. I get worse scars from wrestling with my cats (but could that be becase of trace bacterias?)I used to be a self-injurer and I have a lot of very faint scars from them (again, they were "glorified cat scratches" in depth etc) but I want this one to stand out.I have a very light complection.I've done my research- but sites like wikipedia etc. don't give many precise details.Should I repost this in health? Where do posts on tattoos normally go?

It’s hard to correct it thoroughly on Y!A, but I will help with the major things. For the quote at the beginning of the paper it’s best to have it written as so: Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration -Thomas Alva Edison Your first paragraph was the worse, the rest will need someone to have a hard copy and just mark small mistakes such as repetitive words, near run-on sentences, etc. Your first two sentences can be merged together as the second one is a fragment. It should look something like this: I began playing the violin at eight when my mother decided that in order to reach “Intellectual Fulfillment”, it was necessary to develop my artistic side. Instead of having “I took it blindly” as a sentence, merge it on to the other sentence like this: Due to my apparent “talent” for ruining anything craft related, we chose music as the best avenue to accomplishment, which I took blindly. That is more professional and educated looking. You don’t need a comma after the word “after” in the following sentence. These are the biggest errors in the beginning. I’d definitely have someone read over this that can have a printed copy as your paragraphs are off by a little and you have small grammatical errors. You can email or Instant Message me and I’ll help you further. Your vocabulary is pretty good, so that is something you’ll have to do little to not changing on. Hope this helps.

It’s a very competitive market for very little pay to get started. So many people want to brewers. Your best bet is to hound local breweries for some small job in the brewery and try to work your way in to helping with brew sessions and learn as much as possible about the process on a larger scale. Also, complete the American Brewers Guild, and many won’t even consider you unless you have this certification these days…

For the visually impaired: Use their sense of touch. For example, instead of usingpaint as color, use it as texture. Concentrateon the vocabulary of touch. Use words like:swirldabbrushfast, or slow (use music with these terms)paint sadpaint happy, etc…Get in touch with your students’ other sensesthrough paint, or sculpture. For the hearing impaired, use the vibration ofmusic to find beats. Use visual movementto create a “visual music.”The idea is to use the senses that people have.Do not treat them as if they lack when it comesto creating an experience. Treat these studentsas if they communicate differently, and the ideasshould come quickly.Look at it this way. You are not able to fly, but you can hold out your arms, twirl around, and tiltyour head to the sky to imagine flight. Same withyour students. Help them to imagine!Helpful Internet sources:http://www.kinderart.com/special/http://www.artbeyondsight.org/http://www.blindcanadians.ca/publications/?id=470http://www.stthomas.edu/rimeonline/vol1/hash1.htmhttp://www.princetonol.com/groups/iad/Files/special.htm

Most probably think it’s all in people’s heads. Perhaps some believe in it. Atheism means no god, not no spirits.

First off you should be getting it done by a professional.Don’t rub ashes in it cuz it could cause an infectionTake a brand new toothbrush and soak it in peroxide. Brush the wound as long as you can handle it.This is what I found for aftercare on the Web” Manual irritation essentially, scrubbing at it. A (clean) toothbrush can be used, or an abrasive substance such as salt or sugar mixed with Vaseline. This repetitive trauma will prolong the healing process. If this method is to be used, its important that the area is irritated evenly, or uneven scarring will result. If the piece includes lines, it should be rubbed along the lines, not across them, and if the piece is very intricate, its probably best you don’t scrub at it at all. Chemical irritation substances like lemon juice and vinegar are often used to lower the pH of the wound and take it away from optimal healing conditions. Hydrogen peroxide is one of the least painful chemical irritants used. 1 Dehydration keeping the piece open to the air will allow it to dry out and slow the healing process. This is not always a good idea as large pieces, especially skin removal, carry a risk of infection due to the breach of the body’s first line of defense. If you will be spending time in an environment that will expose the piece to bacteria then it should be kept covered. Regular rinsing with strong salt solution will also help keep the area dry. Pieces on areas of high movement will probably be more comfortable if they are covered for at least the start of the healing process, otherwise scabs will form and crack as the body moves, possibly leading to patchy scarring. Tension one of the most effective ways to promote raised scar formation is to pull the edges of the wound apart on a regular basis, for at least the first couple of months of having the piece. While it often looks like the scar is pretty much healed after a few weeks, in fact scar tissue is still being formed, and pulling the skin around the piece regularly will stimulate this formation. The continual tension caused by movement is one of the reasons why scarification on the upper arms and shoulders tends to form nice raised scars. “-from wikibedia

Try getting a book that will help you learn how to as its hard to get right away. I have many books that have helped me alot in GSCE textiles, why not try something like ‘Figure templates for fashion illustration’ by Patrick John Ireland. The best book i have ever found is ‘Draw fashion models’ by Lee Hammond, its beautifully illustrated and tells you what materials work best for your drawing and tools, and covers everything from positions, fabric folds and shading them, creating different material looks like denim, faces, hair, hands, shoes, accesories etc. Personally i think you can never go wrong with a good qualtiy pack of blendable crayons for colouring your designs

Without breasts, the best way to get a job as a bartender without experience is at a brand new restaurant. Generally corporate restaurants (Chili’s, Applebee’s) will be your best bet. They’ll often times set up temporary trailers outside while the buildings are under construction. Dress well, put on a smile, and make sure you bring your own pen to fill out the application. Good luck!

I can not help you find those that you are specifiaclly looking for. I can only tell you that my 11 year old daughter would rather be free to decorate the shirt herself than just color an image in.Also, get a program such as Print Shop and some iron on transfers. You could create whatever you want, iron it on and then they could color it in if you choose to go that route-then plain white shirts would work.

Since you’ve never been in business before, I would strongly recommend that you talk to a business counselor before you do anything especially spend money. I’d call the local office of SCORE (go to http://www.score.org and input your zip code to find the chapter nearest you), the advice is FREE. The counselor at SCORE will most likely advise you to write a business plan which is very good advice because it will force you to dig out all of the start up details and the costs of starting a homemade natural beauty business and force you to also understand all of the aspects of this business including the customers at the craft fairs you’ll concentrate on (your market ) and how you’ll go after them. You’ll need to register the business with your state controller’s office and make sure that you have any city and county licenses if any are needed where you live. All of this will come out in a business plan.Try this link :http://www.ychange.com/small-business-consulting-articles.html and read some of the articles especially the ones about a business plan and starting a business.Good Luck

First of all, good for you for dipping you toe in the proverbial pond of thought crime. Here are my suggestions for how you should start. first of all, dont worry too much about the medium at first. you need to build confidence and establish yourself. the easiest way to do this is with a stencil or set of stencils. they are easy to make with razor blades and a program called GIMP that you can download for free. just convert pictures of stuff you find online (dont do grenades or brass knuckles, that junk is done to death) to black and white. cut out the black. trace it onto a piece of cardboard. cut that out. BAM! stencil. Use just whatever spraypaint you can jack from home depot to put that junk everywhere. While doing this go to a craft store and drop about 30 bucks on a black book. it is exactly what it sounds like, a black book full of blank pages. this will be your bible. take it everywhere. write everything in this book, ideas, pictures, girls phone numbers, everything. just fill it up. this will start you out on getting a style. show your book to other kids who draw and get their opinions. After you have stenciled everywhere in your town you will have an idea of some areas that are chill to paint. you will also meet some other artists along the way. get up with these kids. smoke blunts and start a crew. have one night of the week where you do nothing but paint and work on your blackbooks. when you have done all this watch some how to videos on youtube to get some ideas of how paint goes on surfaces. stupid stuff you heard earlier will start to make sense, like fill color followed by line color and kiwi shoe polish and india ink makes a ballin mop. Either way, keep your head down and dont poop where you eat (the inside of your school is a terrible place to tag). good luck big guy!

Just got back from the Philly concert. WOW! Show started at 6:00pm (605 actually). We got there at 4:20. Doors opened at 4:30 to the general public. If you are into getting photos with cast members, get in and get the pics first. There are all kinds walking around. I’m not sure what time the early admission was, but there weren’t too many people and we were in the first 20 from the general public. After about 15-20 minutes, lines start forming for pics. That’s the time when we looked at the exhibit items. A few years ago we went to the Star Wars exhibit at the Franklin Institute. If you’ve been to that, this is nothing like it. There are some unique items at the concert, but overall, I think there were maybe 15-20 display items. We saw them all in about a 20 minutes. There aren’t too many, it wasn’t what I was expecting. We were Section 2 (center) row 13. We saw the display screen fine and walked up to the 1st row and I don’t think they would have had a problem seeing either. However, at 13 rows back, it was hard to see the back of the orchestra (harp, drums, choir, etc.) because they were up on stage and all on the same level. I would like to have seen more of the orchestra. As far as tips, make noise at the end and stay until the house lights come on and the credits roll. You’ll have great seats for some of the special effects, but I won’t ruin it for you.
