In this review of Berkley Scented, I am going to show you both the good and the bad. After all, what is a review without some honesty, right? First, I have to tell you upfront that Berkley Scented is my favorite choice. Sure, there are other products in the same class, but frankly, none of them as good (in terms of quality). I do have to say this though. some other products may be better, but based on quality and price, Berkley Scented is the clear winner.

Does Scent Have to Match Lure?
I bought some Berkley gulp alive spray scent. It only Berkley Scented came in a few scents so I bought the craw fish scent. Do you think fish will really care if plastic lizards or worms smell like craw fish? Or will it work just fine?

   amazing question. I have seen and done this test. where fish will move plastics (worms, craws, lizards and grubs off the bed (actually pick them up by the tail and move it out away from the rock surrounded area) when spawning. they actually swallow the baits with scent on them and they don’t care what scent is on what bait.

   don’t use any that worthless crap I bought plenty of them to experiment them and no luck it’s all about the correct lure and the right skills.

   Berkley Gulp is a fantastic bait for retrieving. I would not suggest using it like live bait or dead bait and just letting it sit. It is meant to be used as a lure, just like any other enhanced plastic. Now the facts are that Berkley gulp has the most scent built into the bait than any other bait on the market, and it releases the most scent trail into the water, when you combine that with using them as lures, you will get the action, smell, and taste of live bait. So yes it is worth the money. they have their time and place, and when you use them, they will be the best for the job. I do not leave for a trip with out a pack or two. (note: do not leave them out of the pack or bucket, because they are bio degradable and will dry up)Hope this helpsJoseph

   Really depends on what you are fishing forHerring and sardine would be good for white bassNight crawler, crawfish and anise would be good for catfishGarlic and night crawler would work well for black bass

   They will last at least a year if the lid is on tight and you keep them cool and out of sunlight.

   The charlie’s are excellent swimbaits for freshwater bass fishing – especially for the price. Check the user reviews at amazon.com – it’s all positive. The consensus is that they catch fish due to their realistic movement. I like to jerk the rod to use it like a jerkbait. The strong jerk makes the lure splash on the surface while writhing it’s tail. You can get a lot of topwater strikes that way. I hear they are out of production but extremelures.com has some left.
