I would use clear line first off. I would use seven even eight foot spinning gear and I would use a lot of weedless methods like spinner baits from the smallest for small prey to larger for bass and stripers. But mostly I would mid day use dead worm floating bait casting way upstream and allowing it to roll and float naturally by and then retrieve and repeat. Tony,Having had one myself (its very successful now that I sold it) I would be more than happy to answer your questions about owning a tackle shop PM me and well spend some time on the subject.Art, I suppose someday I’ll just get used to your lunacy, I’ve come to the conclusion that if you only answered questions you knew, you’d have nothing to say. go to the library and look up “paragraph”Read every word “MG” has written, all is true, this is the most cut-throat business I’ve ever had, anyways, lots to say, just send a private message

Wow, that’s a pretty difficult situation there. As just about everyone here stated, there is nothing in the arsenal of fishing that would even come close to smelling like pot. if anything the tackle box will smell like dead fish and plastic. Not to add fuel to the fire but he may be using the box as a way of transporting the drugs and selling. It’s something to consider as well. They do sell over the counter drug test kits if you want to go that route as well. It might start a confrontation but it will be worth the hassle in the long run.~good luck catchin.’

Tiger,The best thing you can do is shut off the computer and drive down to a local Bait&Tackle shop..They will be more than happy to help you with what local species there are around you and how to catch them..tell them your budget and what you like to do and they will set you up on the spot. Make sure to call them when you are done to give a report..they love to hear from customers so they can spread the news around town. Have Fun!

I just searched Yahoo Images for “Tackle Boxes” and found a few photos of ones which don’t have fold-out trays:http://howdylures.hp.infoseek.co.jp/tackle%20box-s%20gallery.html(This is Japanese, but it’s got some photos of wooden boxes with lift-out trays.)http://www.pastikas.com/acatalog/Tackle_Boxes_and_Assecories.htmlThe “Plano 7915″ most of the way down the page has no trays.http://www.great-lakes.org/graphics/2%20tray%20tackle%20box.jpgThis is a nice photo of a closed box. There are thousands of images, though most either have foldout trays, or are nylon bags, or otherwise not traditional “tackle boxes,” but go through them and you can probably find one you like.

Depends on what kind of shark and where you’re fishing. Many nearshore sharks are bottom feeders, they’ll eat just about anything – fish (whole or cut), squid, shrimp, or whatever is common in the area. The bigger, open water sharks (blues, makos, threshers, and the like) generally focus on whatever free-swimming baitfish are around, from anchovies and sardines up to mackerel, bonito, and even smaller tuna. A slab of a mackerel or bonito is a popular bait, since it’s oily and the scent will attract sharks. In general, shark fishing is still fishing, drifting baits off a boat while chumming chunks of fish and fish blood. The tackle you use for sharks again depends on the ones you’re fishing for, since they can range from a few pounds up to several hundred pounds. Though they get big, they don’t fight as hard as other gamefish of the same size (like marlin or tuna), so unless you’re after the real monsters, you don’t need to go overboard with the huge tackle. For the bigger ones you need a wire leader so they don’t just bite through the line, but for the little bottom-feeders, you don’t need the wire.

Carry a wide selection of good, quality tackle. Have decent prices. And the customers to boot out once they’ve located their new hideout.

Well you could always spam Yahoo answers! that’s what a lot of people seem to do when they want to sell something
joke. One of the main things that any angler is looking for is discounts, lets face it fishing gear isn’t cheap, make up some sheets of paper with the address and contact details of the shop-its good to include a few big brand names on this so that people know you are selling quality gear. Then obviously its up t you how much you decide but maybe 10% off selected products in store, don’t make a minimum spend though as it will generally put people off. Also don’t know if this would be possible but selling your goods online with a reduced postage rate will give you a wider customer base, with more people to sell to, word of mouth is the sure way to get a business started so make up some business card and give them to everyone and anyone, especially after a sale. And finally try to get the most competitive prices going, although fishing gear is expensive, even to buy from the supplier, giving people a reason to go to you as opposed to another tackle store is important. The best way to distribute these would be going around your local fishing lakes, rivers etc and actually giving them to anglers. I would also suggest that you leave a few in any fishing club houses if your allowed.
